| W2 Fighter with Redwood Burl
Here's a fantastic 9" Fighter made with some highly hamon-active W2! The differential hardening zones are easily displayed in shallow hardening steels like W2. The full take-down assembly includes stainless steel fittings and a fabulous block of stabilized Redwood Burl for the handle.
Another example of a knife that is SOLD! before it makes it to the web site "Available Knives" page.
Please, please get on my email list so you, too, can get email notifications of new knives as they get completed.

San Mai with Black Maple
Here is an interesting process that I have been working on occasionally for about two years. It's a very demanding process that bonds/welds stainless steel on both sides of a tool steel core. This process is called San Mai. The resulting effect is a hard-working tool steel blade that is protected from corrosion over about 75-80% of its surface. And, it just looks cool as well! I mated this San Mai blade up with some very highly curled Maple that I sent of to be through-dyed and stabilized. Quite a striking combination. Within minutes of posting this knife, there was a small avalanche of people wanting it. Only the first one with the $$ got to add it to his collection. Get on the San Mai list today!!

I am currently in the middle of a bunch of exciting new knives here at Andersen Forge. The Christmas Holidays are upon us, but I am working fervently in the shop on the 2012 Journeyman Smith Knife of the Year for the Blade Show Auction in June. I have stainless San-Mai hunters, Damascus hunters, etc., etc., etc being worked on or in the pipes. Come back soon and check things out. If you are not on my email list for new knives as they come off the line, then SHAME ON YOU!!! Send me an email with an introduction of yourself and I will get to know you a little, and get your address on my out-going notifications list. Have a safe and happy Holiday Season.
